Why Play The Bassoon?
Not many people play the bassoon, infact it is now an endangered species! Bassoonists are so rare that orchestras, bands readily welcome bassoonists.
Do I need to buy a bassoon? Yes you do. I can advise you on which instrument. Many retailers hire out instruments. Young bassoonists would benefit from a 'short reach' instrument. But I can advise you so please ask.
Will I learn to read music? Yes, you will learn music notation in bass clef primarily and then tenor clef. We will be learning different musical styles and a selection of enjoyable pieces. Learning the bassoon is fun!​
